Voter Registration Deadline is April 9th

Adina A. Roberts, Clerk of Decatur County would like to announce that Monday, April 9th, 2018 is the last day to register to Vote for May 8th Primary Elections. You may register within the Clerk's Office at Decatur County Courthouse, second floor Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or you may register to vote online at www.indianavoters.com 24 hrs a day until midnight April 9th, 2018.

I would like to encourage everyone to check out the State of Indiana website www.indianavoters.com. It is a public site that can register you to vote, update your voter registration, verify your voter registration, find your polling location, review candidates on my ballot, obtain an absentee application and track the progress of your absentee ballot.

Absentee Voting Methods

The May 8th, 2018 Primary Election Day is quickly approaching. Adina Roberts, Decatur County Clerk would like to remind Decatur County Registered Voters there are several options available to you, if you find yourself unable to vote during voting hours (6:00 am to 6:00 pm) on May 8th.

Options are as follows:

  1. Absentee Voting by Mail

    Mailing of Absentee ballots have begun March 24th, 2018.

    To receive an Absentee Ballot you must first submit an absentee application form in person, by phone, by mail or by email. An absentee application can be requested from the Clerk's Office or online.

    The VOTE BY MAIL absentee application form may be printed from the State of Indiana's Website at www.indianavoters.com or the Decatur County Website at www.decaturcounty.in.gov/2018-election.
    **THE WEBSITES WILL NOT SUBMIT THESE FORMS FOR YOU. YOU MUST PRINT AND SUBMIT YOURSELF.

    Printed forms may be mailed, faxed or emailed to the Clerk's Office.

  2. Absentee Voting in Person

    Voting in person at the Courthouse will begin TUESDAY, APRIL 10TH, 2018

    Location
    Voting will take place in the West Conference Room, located on the first floor of the Decatur County Courthouse.
    Hours
    Monday through Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    Two Saturday's, April 28th & May 5th, 2018 - 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    Deadline in person voting: May 7nd, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. (NOON)

    Reminders:

    1. Voters will be required to provide a voter id to vote in person.
    2. During a Primary Election you WILL be required to declare which party (Democratic or Republican) ballot in which you wish to vote.
    3. Also, voters will be required to enter thru the public entrance on the north side of the courthouse due to the courthouse security.
  3. Absentee Voting by Traveling Board

    The Decatur County Clerk's Office is currently accepting absentee applications to VOTE BY TRAVELING BOARD. This method is for a confined voter, a voter caring for a confined person, a voter with disabilities to vote an absentee ballot before an absentee voter board at voter place of confinement within Decatur County.

    The first day TRAVEL BOARD VOTING will begin on APRIL 19, 2018 and will continue until the deadline date. You may obtain the VOTE BY TRAVELING BOARD absentee application by contacting the Clerk's Office at (812) 663-8223 or by logging onto the State of Indiana's Website at www.indianavoters.com or the Decatur County Website at www.decaturcounty.in.gov/2018-election.

  4. Absentee Voting by Military / Overseas

    You may obtain the MILITARY/OVERSEAS absentee application by contacting the Clerk's Office at (812) 663-8223 or by logging onto the State of Indiana's Website at www.indianavoters.com or the Decatur County Website at www.decaturcounty.in.gov/2018-election.

    Also, Military personnel should be able to go to their base commanding office and get absentee forms as well. Military/Overseas voters do have the option of voting by mail, fax or email. Mailed ballots would need to be requested as soon as possible.
