A portion of the local property taxes that were due in 2007 are being refunded due to tax relief provided by the Indiana General Assembly.

The refunds are being sent to the owner of record, not necessarily the person who paid the taxes.  If you or your mortgage company did not pay the taxes for the property key number listed on the refund check information stub, you may endorse the check and give it to the person who paid the taxes.  You may also return the check and we will be happy to send it to the person identified as the actual taxpayer.  The check may be returned to either the Decatur County Auditor's office or the Treasurer's Office in person from 8-4 Monday through Friday or by mail to 150 Courthouse Square, Greensburg, Indiana 47240.
