DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

JANUARY 2, 2007


The Decatur County Commissioners opened their January 2nd meeting with following present: Charles Buell - President, Jerome Buening, John Richards and Bridgett Weber-Auditor.

The December 18th meeting minutes were read and approved.

Mark Mohr – Highway Department stated that a representative of Strand Associates discussed the possibility of moving Bridge #19 to a park in southern Indiana. Mr. Mohr will look at the wrecked ambulance to see if can be used as a sign truck.

Tim Ortman – GIS informed Commissioners that the public unveiling will be Tuesday, February 6th from 1pm – 3pm and 6pm – 8pm. Mr. Ortman has discussed with the school corporation developing a layer for school districts. Mr. Ortman stated technical support agreements and maintenance agreements are working well. Performing back-up policy and procedures will be discussed at the next GIS/IT meeting on January 17th.

Don Schilling – EDC President requested that the Commissioners contribute $60,000.00 to the EDC for 2007. Monies will be used for marketing and secretarial help for Vicki Kellerman. Mr. Buening moved to contribute matching monies with the City of Greensburg with a maximum of $60,000.00, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.

Mr. Buening moved to recess for the Board of Finance Meeting, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.

Ms. Polanski provided copies of the Agreement with INDOT for the Commissioners to review. Commissioners discussed language pertaining to the interchange project at 421 North and I-74. Mr. Richards moved to sign agreement with INDOT pending changes being made before the next Commissioner’s meeting, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.

Mr. Richards moved to appoint Tim Nobbe to the Decatur County Hospital Board, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.

With nothing else to come before the Commissioners, Mr. Buening moved to recess, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.
