DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MARCH 17, 2008
The Decatur County Commissioners opened their March 17th meeting with
following present: John Richards - President, Charles Buell, Jerome Buening
and Bridgett Weber-Auditor.
The March 3rd meeting minutes were approved as read.
Tim Ortman provided a report from the Highway Department. RFP’s are in
process for Bridge 115 and 190. REX is moving pipe and there were a couple
of road issues during this move and they are being addressed. Mr. Ortman
also reported that gravel roads are the main concern at this time. Mr. Buell
moved to sign LPA Voucher for phase 2 bridge inspections, Mr. Buening
seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.
Bryan Robbins requested use of the south side of the courthouse lawn for the
Farmer’s Market and other activities surrounded by the market and
Commissioners agreed.
Lloyd Tosser – Prepaid Legal Services would like to offer county employees a
supplemental benefit for legal services such as identity theft and prepaid
legal services to afford an attorney. Mr. Buening asked Mrs. Weber if that
would cause any problems in the Auditor’s Office and Mrs. Weber indicated it
would not. Commissioners agreed allow Mr. Tosser to talk employees to offer
the supplemental benefit.
Judy Curd - Downtown Greensburg Development Corporation presented
information from the DGDC. Mark Keillor was also present to discuss the
operations of the corporation and growth anticipation. Mr. Keillor also
mentioned the action plan for a 4 year period. DGDC is requesting $30,000 in
match money with city and county collaboration for the 4 year period.
Ms. Polanski discussed a speed limit change on NE 80; she will research to
see if an engineering study needs to be performed. Ms. Polanski also
discussed the sale of the Milford Town Hall. Mr. Buell is going to place a
sign at the property with the Auditor’s telephone number and we will contact
Mr. Buening if anyone is interested.
Mr. Buell moved to reappoint Judy Koors to the Decatur County Contractual
Public Library Board, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.
Mr. Buening moved to recess, Mr. Buell seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.
