DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
JUNE 18, 2007
The Decatur County Commissioners opened their June 18th meeting with
following present: Charles Buell- President, Jerome Buening, John Richards
and Bridgett Weber-Auditor.
The June 4th meeting minutes were approved as read.
Mark Mohr-Highway Department provided reports from Butler Fairman & Seufert
on Bridge #19. Mr. Mohr will follow up with the concerned landowners in this
area. Mr. Mohr provided LPA vouchers for signature and will be sent back to
Aecon Engineers. Mr. Mohr provided copies to the Commissioners and Auditor
of the 2006 Highway Annual Report. A map of the stone roads; highlighted
projects for 2007; and also provided map showing stone/asphalt roads left in
Decatur County was presented to the Commissioners. Requests for speed limit
signs on the detour through Adams were discussed. State statute does not
provide reduction outside of urban communities. Mr. Richards moved to reduce
the speed limit on the detour to 40mph (Ordinance 2007-8) Mr. Buening
seconded and Mr. Buell concurred. Ms. Polanski provided an ordinance reduce
the speed limit in Adams. Mr. Buening moved to reduce the speed limit in
Adams to 30 mph, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.
Tim Ortman - GIS provided an update. Cross training has been completed
between the offices. Arc GIS 9.2 update has been installed. Section corner
project has never completed. Mr. Ortman would like to hire someone to
complete this project and Commissioners agreed.
Diane Cantrell - Agency on Aging provided a report of services in 2006.
Agency is requesting $12,073.00 for 2008 and Commissioners agreed.
Sheriff Daryl Templeton requested continuation of insurance for Jail
employee. Mr. Richards moved to pay employee’s insurance up to 12 weeks of
medical leave, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.
Kevin Crites - Fair Board requested the Commissioners have the dirt moved
from Fair Ground property. A quote was provided by one company and Mr. Buell
will try to acquire more quotes and possibly get this done before the fair.
Commissioners requested Mr. Crites purchase snow fencing for this area.
Patty Yount - Bernardin, Lochmueller Associates provided a contract for
professional services to the regional sewer district. Discussion as to
whether Alert should be included in the study was discussed. The Health
Department will have to document that Alert needs to be included in this
study. Mr. Richards moved to have Mr. Buell sign the agreement after adding
Alert specifications to the contract, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Buell
concurred.
Mr. Buening move to sign proposed order from IDEM stating the timeline in
which the regional sewer project will proceed, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr.
Buell concurred.
Mr. Buening moved to sign Inter Local Agreement with the City of
Lawrenceburg for the Honda road improvements, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr.
Buell concurred.
Mr. Buening moved to sign contract with Neil Comer for the Regional Water
District, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.
With nothing else to come before the Commissioners, Mr. Richards moved to
recess, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.
