DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

JULY 2, 2007

The Decatur County Commissioners opened their July 2nd meeting with following present: Charles Buell- President, Jerome Buening, John Richards and Bridgett Weber - Auditor.

The June 18th meeting minutes were approved as read.

Mark Mohr-Highway Department updated Commissioners on ordinances for reduction of speed limits for detour roads. Signs have been put in place. Also signage from LTAP for the 421 North detour has been adjusted to be more accurate.

Mr. Dierckman contacted Mr. Mohr concerning a flat tire on his stone road. Mr. Mohr will look into this issue further and Commissioners agreed.

Mr. Mohr has contacted the Greensburg Daily News to do an article about their sign grant and the project is getting ready to kick off.

Tim Ortman - GIS was present to discuss budget for 2008. He is currently working with all departments including emergency and city personnel to tie everyone together. Mr. Ortman will add appropriate monies to get these projects completed.

Frank Schreiner discussed concerns of water near his property. Wanted to know how and who has the right to plant crops in and too close to ditches causing water problems in this area. Mr. Mohr discussed right-of-ways. The county attorney has advised the Highway Department that the county has access to edge of pavement.

With nothing else to come before the Commissioners, Mr. Buening moved to recess, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.
