DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

AUGUST 20, 2007

The Decatur County Commissioners opened their August 20th meeting with following present: Charles Buell- President, Jerome Buening, John Richards and Bridgett Weber-Auditor.

The August 6th meeting minutes were approved as read.

Mark Mohr-Highway Department reported chip and seal projects have a week and half left. A meeting with consulting parties for Bridge #19 is looking to be rescheduled for September 19th at 1:00pm

Claims were approved.

Bryan Robbins representing Decatur County Recreational and Fitness Path Committee is requesting $50,000.00 for a study to get this project started. Bob Dawson was also present to discuss the areas that are proposed for the path. Commissioners agreed that this is a much needed project and would like the committee to meet with the county council to make this presentation also.

Melanie Maxwell-Tourism presented information to the Commissioners about Cemetery Commissions.

Pam Blasdel – Public Health Coordinator position will continue through October 31st. Mass Pro Pri Plan and Operation Plans were also discussed.

Jim Splitt – Habitat for Humanity invited Commissioners to the September 4th Ribbon Cutting at City Hall at 5:00pm; and asked Commissioners to provide a proclamation for the event.

Mr. Buening moved to sign a lien against the property of Shafter Jackson located in the City of Greensburg for Ms. Polanski to record, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.

Mr. Richards moved to sign Sheriff Salary Contract, Mr, Buening seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.

Mr Buell moved to sign a letter of support for the shovel ready program, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.

With nothing else to come before the Commissioners, Mr. Richards moved to recess, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Buell concurred.
