DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MEETING MINUTES


MARCH 6, 2006


The Commissioners opened their March 6th meeting with the following present: Jerome Buening- President, Charles Buell, John Richards and Bridgett Weber-Auditor.

The February 20th meeting minutes were approved as corrected.

Mark Mohr recommended Burgess & Niple for engineering services on Bridge #25.

Mr. Mohr would like to schedule the Chip & Seal bids to be opened on May 1st at 9:00am.
The Highway Department will now be operating as a North and South District instead of the 1, 2&3 Districts.

The ditching machine being rented from Maddock should arrive March 13th. Winter projects are now being finished up at 500 South near Holtkamps and a project near Beggs and Osterlings.

Mr. Mohr will be on vacation from March 20 through the 24th.

Mr. Richards reported that the fair board decided to allow the construction of a new building for the Letts Fire Department and Commissioners agreed.

Mr. Buell moved to sign the contract with Street Smart, Inc. to provide Web Hosting Services to county offices, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buening concurred.

Claims were approved.

Sheriff Daryl Templeton discussed with the Commissioners the phone system at Washington School. Coroner, Veterans Officer, Emergency Management and Solid Waste would be responsible for the cost of the telephone wiring for their offices.

Mary McCarty with SIRPC requested signatures for grant applications for Burney/Clay Fire Department. Commissioners signed a local match commitment; appointing Mrs. McCarty as the public hearing representative; public hearing schedule; environmental review process; non-federal funds; permits to be obtained; and civil rights certification form. 

With nothing else to come before the Commissioners, Mr. Buell moved to recess, Mr. Richards seconded and Mr. Buening concurred. Meeting recessed.
