DECATUR COUNTY COUNCIL

APRIL 17, 2007


The Decatur County Council opened their April 17th , 2007 with the following present; Ernest Gauck- President, Rheadawn Metz, Rose Hellmich, Larry Meyer, Geneva Hunt, Ken Owens and Kenneth Hooten.

Mr. Owens moved to approve minutes of the March meeting and Mrs. Metz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Charles Buell - President of the County Commissioners requested monies to be appropriated in Cum Cap for the Work Release Facility. Council members will discuss later in the meeting.

Dan Wilson - Extension Office discussed the current copier in the office purchased from the Office Shop. Council members agreed to allow Mr. Wilson to purchase a new color copier for the Extension Office.

Matt Bailey-Council’s Attorney discussed the county’s option to dissolve its ties to the airport. The county council will have to do a new ordinance to rescind the Resolution 1980-1 partnering the city and the county in an airport. Council members asked Mr. Bailey to do the resolution to rescind and look into the budgets and property owned.

Mr. Gauck discussed the regional water district. Mrs. Metz moved to contribute $5,000.00 to the regional water district and to have Mr. Gauck sign the resolution forming the district and Mr. Meyer seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Additional appropriations and transfers were discussed. Mrs. Hellmich moved to approve the additional for $600.00 for Emergency Management; Veteran Service transfers and Mr. Hooten seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mr. Hooten moved to approve additional appropriation $30,000.00 for Cum Cap Development/Work Release Facility and Mrs. Hunt seconded the motion. Motion carried.

With no further business to come before the Council, Mrs. Hellmich moved to adjourn, Mr. Hooten seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned.
