DECATUR COUNTY COUNCIL

AUGUST 21, 2007


The Decatur County Council opened their August 21st, 2007 meeting with the following present; Ernest Gauck, President, Rheadawn Metz, Rose Hellmich, Geneva Hunt, Larry Meyer, Ken Owens and Kenneth Hooten.

Mr. Owens moved to approve the minutes of July 17th as read and Mrs. Hunt seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Bryan Robbins is asking for $50,000.00 for a study to build recreation and fitness paths for Decatur County. Mr. Robbins explained the process to get this project started. Mr. Robbins also noted grants that can and will be applied for. Bob Dawson was present to show a map of the proposed area for paths.

Sheriff Daryl Templeton – presented information from the 911 Board. The contract 911 has with Micro Data will expire in October 2007. Quotes have been provided by 3 companies. Recommendations have been provided by members of the 911 Board and City of Greensburg’s GIS Coordinator. Dan Mulford- 911 Coordinator explained the process of how the calls come in and the map is used to get emergency personnel to the location. Sheriff Templeton recommended going with WTH to contract for at least one year. Mr. Mulford indicated that Keri Brenneman with Schneider Corporation said that both programs can work and made that recommendation not as a representative of Schneider. Eric Lowery of WTH explained how the ESRI and WTH programs are compatible. Mrs. Metz moved to accept the contract with WTH and Mr. Owens seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Sheriff Templeton was also present for additional appropriation for jailers and medical and dental expenses.
Mr. Meyer moved to approve additional appropriations and Mr. Owens seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mr. Owens moved to approve transfer for the clerk and Mrs. Hellmich seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Mrs. Hellmich moved to adjourn and Mr. Hooten seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned.
