DECATUR COUNTY COUNCIL

DECEMBER 4, 2007

The Decatur County Council opened their December 4th 2007 meeting with the following present; Ernest Gauck, President, Rheadawn Metz, Rose Hellmich, Geneva Hunt, Larry Meyer, Ken Owens and Kenny Hooten.

Mrs. Metz moved to approve the minutes of November 20th and Mrs. Hunt seconded and motion carries.

After further explanation from representatives of Hulsbosch Dairy, Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Owens seconded to approved Ordinance 2007-23; motion carries 7-0

Charlie Buell requested making appointments to the Vernon Fork Regional Water District. Mrs. Metz moved to appoint David Stults as the County’s appointment, Mr Owens seconded and motion carries.

Mr. Owens moved to appoint Larry Meyer as the council’s appointment to the regional water district, Mrs. Metz seconded and motion carries.

Tim Ortman – Representative of the IT Committee explained the needs to update the phone system at the Courthouse and Highway Department. Council agreed to the quote for the new phone system.  Mr. Ortman asked permission to carryover 2007 funds from Cum Cap GIS to the County General GIS and Council members agreed.

Rita Burkert requested to pay her deputies the compensation time for the 12 years that they have not been paid for. Mr. Gauck is waiting on recommendations from the Council’s Attorney Matt Bailey.

Mr. Hooten moved to appoint present appointments for their appropriate term limits, seconded by Mr. Owens and motion carries.

Mrs. Hellmich moved to adjourn, Mr. Hooten seconded and motion carries.
