The Decatur County Probation Department serves the Decatur County Courts through the preparation of pre-sentence and predisposition investigations and the supervision of adult and juvenile offenders.

The mission of the Decatur County Probation Department is to reduce criminal/delinquent behavior by providing the necessary services to the offender, as ordered by the court. It it is hoped that this will increase the safety of the community by reducing criminal/delinquent behavior.

These court-ordered services include providing our clients with the knowledge and skills that will promote positive change necessary to reduce future criminal offences. This will be achieved by mutual respect and open communication with our clients and the public.
